Top two teams of Euro Challenge 2013 visit the nation’s capital

On May 29, 2013, the top two winning teams of Euro Challenge 2013, Ridgefield High School and St. Joseph’s High School, toured Washington, D.C., along with organisers of the competition. After a tour of and introduction to the Delegation of the European Union to the U.S., the winning team from Ridgefield High School presented their thoughts on the Spanish banking crisis to the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Spanish Embassy. The team from St. Joseph’s High School then shared their perspectives on the Italian economy with the Economic and Financial Counsellor of the Italian Embassy. Wrapping up the day was a roundtable discussion with an economist and European Central Bank (ECB) representative at the IMF.
