Eligibility Requirements

  • 9th and 10th grade students from high schools all over the country are eligible to participate in the Euro Challenge US competition.

  • Each team must have at least three (3) students and at least one (1) faculty advisor. Advisors are required to attend competition rounds with their students.

  • Each school may enter up to two (2) teams.

  • *Title 1 schools, or schools in which 50% or more of students are eligible for free or reduced cost lunch, may enter 11th and 12th grade students into the Euro Challenge US competition.

For the 2024 competition, the cities/regions with regional hosts include:

  1. New York Metropolitan Region (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) – hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York

  2. Miami Region (Florida) – hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Miami Branch and Florida International University

  3. Midwest Region (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Ohio, Wisconsin) – hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

  4. North Carolina Region (North Carolina) – hosted by the World Affairs Council of Charlotte

  5. Pennsylvania Region (Pennsylvania) – hosted by the University of Pittsburgh

  6. Northwest Region (Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington) – hosted by the Center for West European Studies at the University of Washington

  7. Washington, DC (DC, Maryland, Virginia) – hosted by the European Union Delegation to the United States
